The FALSE Trinitarian translation of 1 John 3:16 in the King James Bible
Hereby perceive we the love of (God), because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
Here we have yet again another false Trinitarian translation deceiving people into believing GOD laid down his life for us.
Lets have a look at the correct translations of 1 John 3:16.
Verse
New International Version
This is how we know what love is: (Jesus Christ) laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
New Living Translation
We know what real love is because (Jesus) gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.
English Standard Version
By this we know love, that (he) laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Berean Standard Bible
By this we know what love is: (Jesus) laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
Berean Literal Bible
By this we have known love, because (He) laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
King James Bible
Hereby perceive we the love of (God), because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
New King James Version
By this we know love, because (He) laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
New American Standard Bible
We know love by this, that (He) laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters.
And here is the best translation we have up to date, from the oldest Greek translations:
Notice how we read in the better translations how the person who laid down his life for us, was Jesus, and NOT GOD.
Do not use the King James Bible, as most do, or you will be deceived into believing GOD is Jesus.
Here is some useful info about the King James Bible, below written by a Trinitarian oddly enough, who has this part correct:
Fast Facts About The KJV
kjv only
The 1611 KJV included the Apocrypha, which contained various heresies in it. For example, in Tobit 12:8,9, 1611 KJV we read:
For almes doth deliuer from death, and shall purge away all sinne. Those that exercise almes, and righteousness, shall be filled with life.
The KJV is based on the Textus Receptus, which was formulated by Erasmus and edited by Stephanus and Beza. Erasmus was a Roman Catholic priest, who died a faithful Catholic.
Erasmus dedicated his edition of the Greek New Testament to Pope Leo X.
Erasmus depended mostly upon two twelfth-century manuscripts and had no Greek manuscript which contained the last six verses of the book of Revelation. He translated those verses from the Latin Vulgate into Greek.
Erasmus wrote of Mary as "my salvation" and "my refuge." Furthermore, he wished for “ salvation through Jesus, but not without his Mother.” https://www.evangelicaloutreach.org/kjvonly.htm
