Over 100 Questions for Those Who Believe Jesus Is God

Quick Facts

Friend, time is running out.

The Apostle Paul gives this solemn warning:

"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
Philippians 2:12

The identity of Jesus Christ is one of the most important questions anyone will ever answer.

Throughout His ministry, Jesus repeatedly asked people who they believed He was.

But did Jesus ever teach that we must believe He is Almighty God in order to receive eternal life?

Or did He consistently teach that He is the Christ, the Son of God, whom the Father sent into the world?

Jesus warned:

"Unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins."
John 8:24

The obvious question is:

Who did Jesus claim to be?

Was He claiming to be Almighty God?

Or was He claiming to be God's Messiah, His only begotten Son, the Christ?

Jesus Himself also tells us where eternal life begins:

"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
John 17:3

According to Jesus' own words, eternal life comes from knowing:

  • The Father as the only true God.

  • Jesus as the Christ whom the Father sent.

Many Christians will reply:

"But we do believe Jesus is the Son of God."

That leads us to ask some very important questions.

  • Did Jesus ever teach that He is both Almighty God and the Son of God?

  • Did God the Father ever declare that Jesus is both Almighty God and His Son?

  • Or did both the Father and the Son consistently teach that Jesus is God's Christ, His only begotten Son?

The Apostle John gives this solemn warning:

"Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son."
1 John 2:22

Notice carefully.

John speaks of the Father and the Son.

He does not say the Father and God the Son.

If we believe, teach, and confess that Jesus is both Almighty God and the Son of God, we should honestly ask ourselves:

Is this what Jesus taught about Himself?

Is this what His Father declared from heaven?

Or have later traditions added something that neither the Father nor the Son ever taught?

These are not small questions.

Our eternal destiny depends upon knowing the one true God and Jesus Christ whom He sent.

This is not a subject to be decided by church tradition, popular opinion, or religious creeds.

It deserves careful prayer, honest study, and a willingness to examine the whole testimony of Scripture.

In this series you will find over 100 Bible questions, each designed to encourage thoughtful Bible study—not to win an argument, but to help every reader examine the Scriptures and test their beliefs.

If you believe Jesus is Almighty God, I sincerely pray these questions will encourage you to re-examine the biblical evidence with an open Bible, an open heart, and a sincere desire to know the truth while there is still time.

"Now these Jews were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so."
Acts 17:11

May every one of us be willing to follow the evidence wherever God's Word leads.

Truth has nothing to fear from honest investigation.
