Colossians 2:9 — Does This Verse Really Teach That Jesus Is God?
One of the most frequently quoted verses in support of the Trinity is Colossians 2:9:
"For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells bodily."
Many Christians are told that this verse proves Jesus is Almighty God.
But does it?
Let's examine the facts.
The Biblical Facts
Colossians 2:9 says that the fullness of Deity dwells in Christ.
The Greek word is θεότης (theotēs), meaning deity, divine nature, or the state of being God, not the word "Trinity."
The word "Trinity" never appears anywhere in the Bible.
Many modern Bible translations use the word "Deity," not "Godhead."
The verse does not say:
Jesus is the Father.
Jesus is one of three divine Persons.
Jesus is the Trinity.
It simply says that God's fullness dwells in Christ.
Compare Scripture with Scripture
Hebrews describes Jesus as:
"The radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature."
This complements Colossians 2:9 by showing that Jesus perfectly reveals His Father. It does not explicitly state that Jesus is the same person as the Father.
Likewise, Jesus said:
"Whoever has seen Me has seen the Father." (John 14:9)
The context explains that Jesus perfectly reveals the Father to the world.

If Paul intended to teach that Jesus is Almighty God, why did he not simply say so?
Why did he instead describe Christ as possessing the fullness of God's nature?

What do Trinitarians believe and teach?
Notice the Trinitarian claim, Trinitarians believe
Colossians 2:9, proves Jesus is GOD.
But for what reason do Trinitarians believe Colossians 2:9,
proves Jesus is GOD?
Perhaps these Trinity websites can help.
As we have seen on the Trinitarian articles. Because of the
word GODHEAD, Trinitarians believe Colossians 2:9, proves the TRINITY.
But notice the word, “Godhead” is NOT present in MOST Bible
translations.
As we have seen, we find in the better translations, the word:
(Deity), and NOT Godhead.
In fact, on my search for the truth, I was shocked to discover the word “Godhead” is nowhere in the Greek manuscripts and is a Trinitarian
invention, that they admit themselves.
And the word “Godhead” occurs ONLY in the Trinitarian translations.
Notice Trinitarian David J. Stewart says in his article:
Although the term “Trinity” is not found in the Scriptures, the word “Godhead”
most certainly is — in 3 places!

Let’s have a look and be sure with what David J. Stewart claims? Is the word: Godhead in ANY of the Greek manuscripts?
When we look at better translations the word “Godhead” is NOT present ANYWHERE, or in the Greek manuscripts.
And Mr David J. Stewart only shows us the King James
Versions or Trinitarian translations.
What is the truth?
Here are the Biblical facts.
The PRECISE and EXACT meaning of what St Paul was teaching
here in Colossians 2:9, is perfectly translated in the Holman Christian
Standard Bible.
For the entire fullness of God's nature dwells bodily in
Christ,
We again, read the same and EXACT meaning of Colossians 2:9,
here in: Hebrews 1:3.
We can easily see the description of Jesus:
(For in him the whole fullness of deity), and:
(He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint
of his nature).
Are IDENTICAL in BOTH scriptures of Colossians 2:9, and Hebrews 1:3.
Which is why Jesus Himself said: 7 If you had known me, you
would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen
him.”
8 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is
enough for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you
still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can
you say, ‘Show us the Father’? John 14: 7 - 9.
Jesus was saying to Philip, Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. Because in Jesus is the fullness of His GOD’s deity, and the exact imprint of GOD’s nature.
Conclusion.
And to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19. Notice that verse. IS, it saying we are THREE, in a TRINITY? Of course not. But as Jesus is just like His Father, and ONE with His Father, we also become like GOD and His Son, and become ONE with GOD and His Son.
IF, the word GODHEAD should be used, GODHEAD should simply
mean what it states: ONE GOD Almighty is the HEAD.
Which would strictly and only be a TITLE for GOD alone, as GOD Almighty, the Father of Jesus, is the only ONE true GOD and THE HEAD.

But we see in this article how the Trinitarians are using the
word: GODHEAD in a deceptive way, to deceive people into believing GOD’s literal own begotten Son, is one of THREE, and teach the false teaching that Jesus is His own GOD to support the Catholic pagan Trinity doctrine.
As the Trinitarians themselves DEMONSTRATE below.
The Trinitarians believe in a TRINITY, and yet there is NO
such word (TRINITY) anywhere in the Bible.
The Trinitarians believe the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
are all THREE separate beings in a “Godhead” and yet there is NO such word
“Godhead” anywhere in the Greek manuscripts,
The only place we can find the word “Godhead” is in the
Trinitarian translations.
It seems to be clear that the Trinitarians have twisted this
scripture, by changing to Greek word from theotés: deity
Original Word: θεότης, ητος, ἡ, with the word “Godhead”.
By twisting this scripture, by adding in the word “Godhead”
which is no where in the whole Greek manuscripts.
Trinitarians are able to deceive people into believing Jesus is one of the THREE beings in their TRINITY Godhead.
Here is the Trinitarian DECEPTION.
By adding in the word “Godhead” into the Trinitarians
translations, they are able to twist the truth of GOD being GOD alone, who is a (singular being) and support their
Trinity doctrine and make the (ONE TRUE GOD) into, (plural, 3, Gods/beings), which than CONTRADICTS the word of GOD who always declares He is GOD
ALONE, with NO GOD’s BESIDE Him.
The truth is, as the word “Godhead” is wrongly used and twisted, which is why the word has been added into
the Trinitarian translations, the word is now used by Trinitarians to help them support the false Catholic TRINITY doctrine,
and changes the ONE TRUE GOD, and His Son, into a “tritheism” (three Gods), tri-unity (the
Trinity).

What does the term Godhead mean?
Notice two important facts, the Trinitarian confesses.
1. The word “Godhead” occurs in the King James Version only
3 times (it is not found in the NIC or NASB)
2. The doctrine of plurality of the Godhead— a tri-unity
(the Trinity).

If we look at the Dictionary and see what the word (deity)
means, we find the first word perfectly saying this word means GOD.
In this case, St Paul was describing the (Deity) divine nature, of GOD, the
ONE creator and supreme being, who is, (GOD Almighty), that dwells in Christ.
GOD is in Christ, and Jesus has ALL of GOD’s Divine, indistinguishable nature.
There is NOTHING whatsoever here by St Paul contradicting
his own teachings by teaching Jesus is GOD, or a Trinity, or a “tritheism”
(three Gods).
But on the contrary, we easily see St Paul is teaching what
he has always taught in other scriptures, that GOD is GOD alone, and GOD’s Son Jesus, has an
IDENTICAL nature, and the same divine attributes as His Father GOD, because: He is the image of the invisible
God, the firstborn of all creation. 19
For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell. Colossians 1:15, 19.
Fact.
Jesus being the image of His invisible GOD, PROVES He is NOT the same ONE TRUE GOD He was born from.
Do you say of him whom the Father consecrated
and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming, ’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
John 10:36.
In this case of Colossians 2:9, the word: “Godhead” is NOT in any of the Greek manuscripts, but invented, used, and twisted by the Trinitarians to deceive
people into believing Jesus is: THREE and NOT GOD’s literal Son.
And that Jesus Himself is His own ONE TRUE Father GOD.
Which would mean Jesus is NOT the Fathers literal Son and GOD is NOT the ONE TRUE GOD who sacrificed His own Son, if GOD and His Son were ONE GOD and THREE, called the TRINITY.

SON of God?

NOT GOD OR A TRINITY, but as St john has said: but he that
believeth that Jesus is the SON of God? 1 John 5:5.
And as Jesus has said: ETERNAL LIFE is believing His Father
GOD is the only ONE TRUE GOD alone. John 17:3. Which is the FIRST commandment
one MUST believe. Mark 12:29.
