WHAT STONE IS THE 'GREAT STONE' AND CORRECT SIZE TO THE GARDEN TOMB OF JESUS? Part 1 of 3.

Dear friends, as I believe this is my calling, I am doing some major research on the Garden Tomb of Jesus. Which will be added to my next new HD documentary, after my final visits from the tomb in the garden. The next articles you receive are based on my personal, independent research, to establish the evidence, which proves the facts and hopefully confirm the truth. I am already excited to have discovered new evidence and information on the garden tomb, missed and overlooked by other Garden Tomb researchers, which I will be slowly sharing with you over the course. May I say, I am very grateful to some of you for your interest, research comments and feedback I have received, on a subject I believe to be the most important site in human history, revealing the place where our King Jesus was crucified, buried and raised from the dead, fulfilling 100’s of Bible prophecies, which also confirms the absolute accuracy of the gospels. But praying in Jesus for His Holy Spirit is vital, as without Him it is impossible, and we are just religious people. We will briefly look into the investigations and study of materials and sources of two main candidates, who have done a great deal of research on the garden tomb, of which the last and third is my own discovery. Garden Tomb Contenders.  Part 1. Research by John A. Tvedtnes. Part 2. Research by Ron Wyatt. Part 3. Research by myself, Simon Brown. I will put forward their claims of what and why they believe the size of the stone is, to this Garden Tomb of Jesus. Lets get going and have a look. Part 1. 1.  Research by John A. Tvedtnes, instructor at the Brigham Young University-Salt Lake Center for Continuing Education, doctoral candidate in Egyptian and Semitic languages at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and trustee of the Society for Early Historic Archaeology. John A. Tvedtnes inspired me with an article he wrote called: ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVIDENCES FOR THE GARDEN TOMB, JERUSALEM. I believe John has done some wonderful research, of which I mostly agree, except the size of the door and stone.  So I am only focusing on his research with what he believes the size of the door and stone is, and no more at this stage. In short, John states in his research, because of the large door entrance, the tomb would require a large stone to seal such a large door entrance. He goes on to say, the fact St John and Mary Magdalene had to stoop down to look inside the tomb as we are told in John 20:5 - 11. Proves the door entrance to the tomb must have been small. He does not say the actual size, but from his drawing I made below, similar to his diagram  here which you can see on his web site, which looks like he believes the stone is only about 4 to 6 foot in diameter. The size of the tomb door today For this reason he believes the stone was the same size as a normal stone in the holy land, similar to the one below. ©2015 iStockphoto LP. Sadly we are all humans, capable of making mistakes, and from my research it is very clear John has made a serious error here.  It is very easy to establish the facts and reveal this simple mistake by firstly looking at John 20:5.  John A. Tvedtnes is looking at the Bible verses - So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. 4 Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. John 20:3 - 5. So because of the words and translation: He bent over, John and others believe the door entrance was less then half the size as it is today. But sadly, not realising the real words and translation do not say John bent over to look in the tomb, but instead says - to stoop sideways, to stoop to look. NASB Lexicon. Here we see St John did not bend down, but stooped side ways, proving the size of the door entrance was the same as it is today.  This makes perfect sense because the grave of Jesus is on the right side of the tomb, which confirms with the right translation.  Model of the tomb. St John had to stoop sideways, as Jesus body was on the right hand side corner, so he could  see the body of Jesus, and not bending down and then looking sideways. In fact if we look at this ancient photo of the sepulchre of Jesus in the tomb, we discover something very interesting indeed. Ancient photo of the sepulchre of Jesus in the tomb, As we can see, It would be impossible for anyone to see the body of Jesus, from the door, if they had to bend down, because by bending down at the door and looking at the grave, there is a slab in front of Jesus body, making it impossible to see Jesus by bending down. (Please also see Howard's comment at the end) Sadly, I do not understand why John has also neglected what the gospels say, which says and confirms the stone was unique, by saying it was a ‘ GREAT’ stone indeed, yet he has added a small stone to the garden tomb, no different to any other. Text Analysis from greek http://biblehub.com/text/mark/16-4.htm And having looked up they see that has been rolled away the stone; it was indeed large extremely. Mark 16:4. John is not fully understanding the reason the stone was said to be GREAT. It needed to be GREAT to accommodate a great size doorway, completely opposite to the traditional tombs. A GREAT stone was needed to accommodate a GREAT size doorway. King James Bible. And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. Mark 16:4. Just as St Mark in Mark 16:4 clearly defined and detailed the stone was GREAT, and Dr. Howard also wonderfully explaining this amazing event, where the two women arriving at the tomb after 3 days from Jesus being buried, and had to gaze upwards - And having looked up - in surprise at the [great] height of the [circular] stone. Notice here, the women looked up, and not directly ahead or ‘down’ at the stone, which would be the case, if the stone was 5 foot or less. The GREAT stone reveals the incredible accuracy of the Bible, which has so sadly been overlooked. So we have now established there is a vital mistake on the size of the DOOR, making the size of what is a ‘GREAT’ stone far to small, and a normal stone. I hope my research has proved here that the theory of a small door and stone is wrong.  It is NOT a small stone, but a ‘GREAT' stone indeed, just as written in the gospels. And having looked up they see that has been rolled away the stone; it was indeed large extremely. MARK 16:4. This now explains why two of the Garden tomb staff told me and my wife Emma, the GREAT stone at Mount Nebo is to large, which is so sadly misleading, causing confusion and discrediting the word of God, in His extremely reliable, as we have seen, Holy Bible. My problem is who will believe my research? I am dyslexic, never went to school, and have no letters after my name or any ‘O' levels, but instead I have only a simple spirit level and a tape-measure, compared to someone like intelligent John from University with historical archaeology knowledge. However, If you do have confidence in my research and would like to learn more regarding the garden tomb, then please do join me again in part 2 of our next candidate, next week, when we will jump from a small 4-5-6 foot stone to a 13 foot ‘MASSIVE’ stone, believed to also be the stone to the tomb of Jesus, as said and discovered by Ron Wyatt. Hi Simon!  Ok,first that seal. You're correct as to your findings in the video and the seal. Seal is sphragizo: to stamp for security as it is used here: high degree ; very great, etc. Can mean fence or barrier too. The 'seal' was quite large in length to accommodate that massive stone of Nebo or Simon! John  John 20:5: "And having leaned beside(literally peeking in] he is observing the bandages that were lying, but he did not enter."  Simon  v.6 -7 '"...And he viewed the bandages lying ,and the sweat cloth that had been on His head ,but not lying with the bandages, but apart from having been rolled up into one place." Note:v 8 John later just goes right inside the tomb no stooping in Greek is mentioned. The sweat cloth was rolled or coiled around and around entulisso Gk. So They wrapped that cloth around and around His head, but it was lying there in that it was now hollow or the head/body was gone yet it still has the form! The same for the bandages. It says it was 'one place' Gk. where the wrapped head 'turban' or sweat cloth was coiled in the same form as when they wrapped it around His head.  We know Jesus just passed through them unlike Lazarus Jn. 11:44  These bandages were lying on a flat -to some degree- surface. They were laid out or elongated.  I did see in Mark 16:5 the angel was sitting on the right side of the inside of the tomb. We know the GT is laid out where the bodies would be on the right side.  The women just entered right into the tomb no bending over is seen in Greek. "Why do you seek the living among the dead." I read where they found not too long ago where near the GT was buried 17 people. This then would make even more sense. He was' living' the others were dead! That's all for now.  Howard. UPDATES by Howard. Greetings Simon! In going over and over the grave clothes scene I see that they are outstretched and hollow. They would cohere as aloe and other spices, etc., would  coalesce sticking the wrappings together. Who placed them in 'their own place' has been speculated. The two angels who were His servants or the Lord Himself. I lean towards those two angels who were sent to serve and give the messages to His disciples about His rising from the dead. So the two main items the body swath as well as the head covering which were away from each other were set aside or appointed a place in which to be laid so as to be seen by the witnesses. So on the floor of the depression or loculus (with a vertical stone slab to the right from frontal view ) the angels(?) carefully laid out in an appointed outstretched position the main grave cloth as well as the head sweat 'turban.' Both men entered the tomb Peter before John as we know and 'saw' (John) blepo- to look, to observe ,and Peter to 'see' theoreo  to scrutinize carefully Gk. But, at the end John 'understood' (eido Gk.) the meaning of the empty 'hollow' grave clothes just lying there. If robbers or the enemies of the Lord had taken the body they would not have undraped the body first. Now one could say these cloths could have been moved and kept in order as indicated  across to the chamber or loculus 4 or right side from frontal view or the space in between the loculus' so it would be easier to view by the witnesses. But, they went inside to view them  and most likely the angels would leave them where the Lord's body had lain in death? 'Come see the  place where " (# 4 to far left as one enters the tomb... on tomb graphic) they laid him.' Mk.16: 6 It would be some what dark in the tomb, but that window to the right and higher up would let some light inside. Maybe this is part of the reason for saying stooping alongside to use what light there was at the door and also take advantage of the light from the small window to see the contents of the tomb until they  fully entered. They had never been inside this tomb before. They would have to -in their excitement-mentally  grasp it's contents and lay out ,etc. We have seen it and many photos so we are familiar with it. But, having those grave clothes is another matter! Howard   More later... Simone, The tomb Hewn out of a rock. Hewn is laxeutos: rock quarried; scrapping; to smooth or to polish to some degree. It was a splendid 'polished' tomb 2,000 years ago. My exposition of the linen cloth was terse not an in depth analysis. To me it isn't so much the size of that door as to the inspired Writers Mark and Matthew referring to the massive size of the stone. Start there is my take. The length of the seal and the fact the Greek word can mean a very long one whether rope or chain as part of that 'seal.' We do not know Joseph's thinking. He may have had problems with grave robbers trying to break into the tomb. Or knew of others. He could have heard of a friend whose 'small' stone to his tomb was easily moved exposing that tomb ;so he with all of his wealth and hired stone workers decided to make his stone especially large so no one could break in! Maybe too ego was also involved in his decision as to a display of his prestige(Sanhedrin) and wealth so he wanted a stone like no other had. This doesn't mean later he wasn't converted to Jesus became more humble and changed; but the huge stone was already cut and in place. Maybe one of his stone quarry masons told him to do this large stone for security, etc. Of course, it was all providential in symbolizing Christ the large stone the builders rejected. And the power of God seen in the angel that lifted the massive stone from it's channel with ease. Also when confronted with it's enormous size the security detail no doubt reported that with their security and the stone being so ponderous it was very secure. NOAH'S ARK NOAH'S ARK – DOUBTS, DISCOVERIES AND DEBATE.

Welcome dear reader to my latest article in which I attempt to share with you information which I have been researching over a period of time and which I find a fascinating subject. I presume because you are taking the time to read this you too are hungry to discover more. I like to receive feedback from you as I am open minded and willing to listen to what people have to say.

This article is written in response to some feedback that I received recently from Christians concerning Noah’s Ark being found on Mount Ararat. Having now read this feedback, I feel that in response to this alternative site, I will be adding this information to our websites.

The following information on the subject of The Search For Noah's Ark has been brought to my attention by a fellow believer in Jesus, who has acquired this information over the past 20 years in his personal research into Biblical related matters. It is presented because historical documentation and modern-day eyewitness testimonies, together with tested wood samples from Noah's Ark, photos and satellite imagery, appear to have the Ark located high atop Mount Ararat.

As I have said I like to be open minded and even handed when it comes to presenting information which is why in this article I would like to present to you the findings from several different sources in relation to the existence and location of Noah’s Ark.

I am aware of course that people have differing beliefs and I certainly believe that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and to voice that opinion. I like to use the spirit level of Gods Word and I believe that as long as we do that we cannot go far wrong.

Sometimes I receive feedback that is heavily critical of other Christians and I feel that to condemn other believers for their beliefs is wrong as none of us are infallible. Far better to look at the heart of a person who wants to pursue truth and has a passion for God than to be judgmental and harsh in our words just because we believe something to be different to our own views.

I am always a little shocked when I am attacked for my articles and yes I suppose a little upset. I do not like to get involved with arguments and debates on who is right or wrong. I am really interested in just presenting people with evidence and discoveries that do not contradict the Bible.
If people are strengthened and encouraged by my articles or even led to Jesus then my aim and purpose has been accomplished as all I want to do is glorify God and do the Lords will.

So, dear reader I will leave it to you to read on and make up your own mind on what you believe, keeping in mind of course that new discoveries are being made all the time as God reveals more to us in these last days.

I would say that to find Noah's Ark would be a wonderful dream come true. But has it been already found? Some say it has and some dispute any claim or new information that points to its present day existence.

Time and again people of all beliefs have embarked upon journeys far from their homelands, journeys that took them through dangerous terrain, to the highest mountains of Turkey, in search of the remains of one of the most famous biblical stories from ancient days. Noah’s ark has fascinated many as they imagined Noah building the ark day by day, perhaps enduring the ridicule of those who mocked him, who could not understand what he was doing. It was the greatest boat ever built by human hands and yet its construction was divinely inspired. It was built with one purpose in mind – to save the human race!!

The account of the story can be found in the book of Genesis, written by Moses thousands of years ago. 

Was Noah a master ship builder – we don’t know, but there is no doubt that the boat that he worked day and night to build, sailed and survived the greatest storm in human history.

Compare it with that other boat made famous by the fact that it didn’t complete its course despite being hailed at the time as ‘the unsinkable ship that even God himself could not sink’.
The Titanic set off on its ill fated journey, its maiden voyage carrying 2,228 people on board all confident in the promise that this was the safest ship ever built.
"Not even God could sink the Titanic," was the boast of those who put their confidence in a ship built by men.

Sadly 1500 souls perished after the ship collided with a huge iceberg and it instantly took in water as part of the ship was ripped open.

Today we also have the deadly tendency to have excessive pride in our own resources. "As we travel through life we may think who really needs God anyway? I can make it on my own."
"Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18.

Pride and wickedness was what our Creator saw as his eyes went to and fro the earth looking for a good man. What had man become? His heart must have been grieving as he surveyed all he had created.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Genesis 6:5- 8.

You and I may have destroyed the earth totally if we were God but thankfully our God is a God of mercy and he did not give up on the human race. His love for us is eternal.

Noah’s righteousness and obedience became the vessel that God was able to use to rescue mankind from the evil it had become. He gave mankind the opportunity to start again.

Many have questioned the story of Noah and the Ark. They find it hard to believe and question how a lamb could lay down next to a lion or how a chicken would not be eaten by a fox.

They focus on these things rather than believe that God who was maker of heaven and earth was more than capable of overseeing its continuing existence by taking care of every detail.

"I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Jeremiah 32:27.

The story of Noah has been handed down through generations and is the oldest surviving Babylonian story ever found. It was preserved on a clay tablet and written in Semitic language(part of the greater Afroasiatic language family) that was spoken in ancient Mesopotamia.

It is apparently the only story that was documented as history or legend in almost every region on earth. A man named H.S. Bellamy in Moons, Myths and Men believes there are stories of the great flood that were recorded by 500 Flood legends worldwide.

The story of Noah’s ark is more than a legend as we have the evidence of the story imprinted on solid clay cuneiform tablets which confirms that the biblical story of Noah as told in Genesis is indeed fact.

How much more evidence is out there? Some people have had their imaginations fired with a passion to prove its existence and have dreamed of being able to find the ark, to locate the remains of this divine boat, designed by God and built by human hands.

The Apostle Paul wrote ‘Prove all things’ and this involves being open minded to discoveries that emerge and provide wide ranging evidence of the accuracy of Gods Word.

Physical archaeological evidence confirms historical facts, that confirm Biblical history, and adds weight to being able to prove to the world the accuracy of the Bible.

Bible Discoveries are important as they challenge the concept of evolution that is being presented as factual in our schools and accepted by many as scientifically backed up by evidence.

Bible Discoveries also strengthens the believer as Archaeology proves the Bible, helping to provide evidence which in turn shores up faith.
Evidence of course is also invaluable as a resource that Christians can use as we witness the good news of Jesus Christ. Sceptics are often moved when presented with evidence that confirms the Bible and it can help them move forward in taking that first step of faith.

I will show you the two most popular, heated and debated sites with links and videos to their articles, believed to be the sites and remains of Noah's Ark. However it is down to you to decide which site is the genuine site, or indeed whether it even matters.

NOAH’S ARK – THE DURUPINAR SITE


There is a site on the mountain Durupinar, 20 miles south of Mt. Ararat, believed by some to be the biblical landfall of Noah's Ark, with a boat shaped form about 500 feet long and 160 foot wide at 7000 feet high.
It is believed to be as long as two football fields and 25 miles from the Russian border and first seen and discovered in mid May of 1948 by a local Kurdish shepherd boy named Reshit Sarihan at üzengiliit in Turkey and was also in the Life Magazine in September of 1960 which a good friend Val Smith sent to me. 

A Turkish pilot Sevkit Kurtis was said to have taking this photo of the boat shaped formation in 1959. 
This boat shaped formation is believed by many to be the famous Noah’s Ark but disputed aggressively by others. It has a numbers of interesting points to consider. Investigated by Ron Wyatt in 1977 with his sons Ronny and Danny after reading the Life Magazine they humbly left their homes travelling far off the beaten track to discover any remains and evidence of the most famous boat in history.

WHAT DO THEY BELIEVE THEY FOUND ON THIS SITE

WHY DO THEY BELIEVE THAT NOAH’S ARK IS NOT ON MOUNT ARARAT?
Because the Bible states, Noah's Ark LANDED upon the mountains of Ararat." (Gen 8:4 KJV) not Mount Ararat.
The "mountains of Ararat" is plural and therefore means mountainous region. The word translated for Ararat is translated as Armenia later in the book of Isaiah and is usually so referenced.
Note:
" upon the mountains of Ararat." Many explorers have looked on Mt. Ararat for the remains of Noah's Ark. The Bible however, does not say that Noah's Ark landed on Mt. Ararat. It says that the Ark landed upon the mountains of Ararat. (mountains plural) An examination of the Hebrew manuscripts of Genesis reveals that actual wordage is that Noah's Ark landed upon the mountains of Urartu. (The whole mountainous region in far eastern Turkey. READ MORE

Evidently in 1977 the Turkish Government officially declared it to be "Noah's Ark" in June 1987 and established the “Noah’s Ark National Park” with a Visitors Centre overlooking the site which can still be visited today.

Here is some useful information and photos that back this up.

George Hagopian lived at the base of the mountain. When he was 10 and 11 years of age, he traveled up the mountain according to his account, with his uncle, who carried him up to see the Ark. His family and the people he knew were very familiar with Ark being there. He, together with Elfred Lee, produced drawings of what he saw as a youth. This was the view in 1910 as he saw it - very effective in its length to width proportions.
We compare that with another account. This is a drawing of a Russian photograph. Russian aviators in 1917 saw the Ark sticking out of a glacier. The drawing is very similar to George Hagopian's account.
Another account comes from Ed Davis. We know Ed Davis has been up the mountain because of his description of the mountain. Ed saved the life of a son of one of the Cheiftains of the Kurdish village, during WW2. Ed was adopted and was taken up to see the Ark from 100 yards away. By this time, it had broken in two. When we compare the eyewitness accounts, we see they are very similar to each other.
A friend of mine did go up without permits, leaned over the edge of the cliff and took photographs, without being able to look. He emptied the camera, shot all the rolls of film. Not as well-focused as it ought to be, but I think I know what we're looking at here. This certainly justifies the conclusion that there is good evidence that the Ark is there.
Perhaps better evidence comes from Satellite imagery. Unfortunately, it is highly classified. I have been told about it, and we have the coordinates.

There is enormous evidence (including photos, wood samples, and satellite imagery, and many eyewitnesses over the centuries that match one another in their description) that one can reasonably conclude, beyond doubt, that the Ark still rests high atop Mt. Ararat. 

Guys like (the great artist and scholar) Elfred Lee, the great Randall Price, and the great Dr. John Morris, the great Dr. Walter Brown.
These guys have dedicated their entire lives to Noah's Ark!

The mountains of Ararat - that Ararat was a mountain of Armenia is almost universally agreed. What is commonly thought to be the Ararat of the Scriptures has been visited by many travelers, and on it there are several monasteries. For a long time the world has been amused with reports that the remains of the ark were still visible there; but Mr Tournefort, a famous French naturalist, who was on the spot, assures us that nothing of the kind is there to be seen. As there is a great chain of mountains which are called by this name, it is impossible to determine on what part of them the ark rested; but the highest part, called by some the finger mountain, has been fixed on as the most likely place. These things we must leave and they are certainly of very little consequence.

The ark rested. - It is stranded on some hill in Ararat. This country forms part of Armenia. As the drying wind most probably came from the east or north, it is likely that the ark was drifted toward Asia Minor, and caught land on some hill in the reaches of the Euphrates. It cannot be supposed that it rested on either of the peaks now called Ararat, as Ararat was a country, not a mountain, and these peaks do not seem suitable for the purpose. The seventh month began usually with the new moon nearest the vernal equinox, or the 21st of March. "The tenth month" The waters ceased to prevail on the first of the ninth month. The ark, though grounded six weeks before, was still deep in the waters. The tops of the hills began to appear a month after. The subsiding of the waters seems to have been very slow.

WHAT DO JOSEPHUS AND MARCO POLO SAY?
Both Josephus in about 70 A.D. and Marco Polo about 1300 A.D. mention its existence on the mountain, but their reports are based on others' accounts. Josephus remarks that its remains are on display for all to see without need of an organized exploration. 
Sadly for a long time there has been a great battle and debate with certain Christian groups, some who are creation ministries, against the claims made by Ron Wyatt mostly supported by Seventh Day Adventists & Ron Wyatt Followers including many pastors and Christians in the UK who I know who believe and support some of Ron Wyatt's discoveries.

GLOBAL WARMING
This battle reminds me of the scientists who believe in Global warming. Yet certain Christians refuse these claims saying the world has always been the same and there is no Global warming. I believe Man may be blind to the knowledge of our Great God, but I don't believe that man is blind to the bad things we have sown on the earth which have contributed to our climate change. Such as the effect of greenhouse gases (GHGs) like fridges and aerosol cans which were created and emitted by humans. Here are just some facts of Global warming.

Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 degree Celsius) around the world since 1880, much of this in recent decades, according to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies. The rate of warming is increasing. The 20th century's last two decades were the hottest in 400 years and possibly the warmest for several millennia, according to a number of climate studies. The IPCC meets every few years to review the latest scientific findings and write a report summarizing all that is known about global warming. Each report represents a consensus, or agreement, among hundreds of leading scientists.

We have hundreds of leading scientists that believe in Global warming, yet many still argue against the evidence. I believe that time will tell on these things and it is God that we look to for our future.

Lets not look back but forward and focus above in the new things to come that have been promised by God.
No matter what man does to save this planet, God has made it clear he will be destroying all old things including the heavens and the earth. So Christians who dispute and argue over these things I believe are pointless.

Whether or not there is Global warming does it matter any longer? In the first mode by the will of God, he destroyed the world with water, and soon it will be a single word, a breath of command from the Creator who will renew the world by fire.

HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO BE SURE OF THE ARK'S RESTING PLACE?
Whether or not Noah's Ark rested on Mt Ararat, or a site on the mountain, of Durupinar does it matter? As Christians we all like to have great tools when we are witnessing to our ‘neighbour’ 
However, aren't we doing more damage than good to our ‘neighbour’ by shouting at other faiths and not showing love and respect for each others beliefs. My friend once said to me ‘It is no wonder the unbelievers are laughing at the church’.
Many Christians believe the tomb of Jesus to be at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre while other Christians believe the tomb of Jesus to be at the Garden Tomb.

Should Christians condemn each other for what they believe? Does it matter what tomb Jesus was laid in? Does this affect our salvation? NO. There are many good Christians who have never been to the Holy land and some who know nothing about any Tombs of Jesus. Yet there are many born again believers who are saved by their faith, and not by seeing, I admire these type of Christians.

SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS
As I have been researching I have come across the fact that Ron Wyatt was a Seventh Day Adventist and it is that fact alone that seems to be a stumbling block where other Christians are concerned. I find it incredible that some people judge him purely on his beliefs rather than on his work.

I have spoken to many Seventh Day Adventists by email who have worked with Ron including Ron Wyatt's widow Mary Nell, in which they have all said to me, that both themselves and Ron himself are and was telling the absolute truth.

I have found them very sincere and helpful and they even sent my friend, Bob Mitchell a Bible teacher, many photos of the Red Sea crossing site which they claim Ron discovered, to use for FREE so he could make a documentary.

When I asked them about this situation and why so many Christians say Ron was not telling the truth, even condemning him on Christian TV, they go silent as if to say let God be the judge. I admire them for their humility and humble attitude.
I believe no-one should point their finger, shout, threaten and condemn anyone for what they believe. 
There is one Lawgiver who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? James 4:12 (NKJ)
NOAH’S ARK - IS IT A SALVATION ISSUE? 
I personally believe that it grieves the heart of God when we condemn and judge one another especially where we are talking about non-biblical issue.
For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us. Isaiah 33:22.Don't grumble against each other, brothers, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! James 5:9.
Jesus made it clear that we are to love one another. Matthew 22:39 says to ‘Love your neigbour as yourself’. While Proverbs 11:9 says ‘A hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour’. 
This is precisely what we as Christians do when we condemn people who are dead for what they believe as in Ron’s case over Noah's Ark, a non biblical subject. Just as the verse above states WE destroyeth his neighbour’. 
I believe that we should keep an open mind rather than find out that we condemned some one when we could be wrong. Let us be humble and respect what others believe. Is it right to criticise anyone who has a desire to prove the Bible is true? God knows our hearts, Let God be the judge.

Maybe we should listen to Clark's Commentary which states These things we must leave, and they are certainly of very little consequence.

WAS RON WYATT'S WORK INFALLIBLE?

For example I have always believed it was Ron who discovered the split rock as told in Exodus 17:6. However after some research it seems it was discovered by Penny and Jim, born again Christians I understand Split Rock Research discovered it first in April of 1992, when they found the split rock in Horeb for the first time. Jim and Penny’s work found them living in the desert for 12 years and they have unearthed an amazing trail of biblical evidence buried beneath the sands. They have amassed a tremendous volume of photographic and video evidence relating to Moses and to the Exodus of the Children of Israel from Egypt. They are involved in both preservation, cataloguing and educational distribution of their discoveries. It is also evident that Penny and Jim have some disagreements with Ron's claims and his discoveries regarding The Red Sea Crossing Site.

Research and discoveries by Penny and Jim have proven to be reliable and credit worthy. They travel far and wide revealing the evidence and reliability of the Red Sea of Moses, Crossing Site and Mount Sinai being in Saudi Arabia. 
Their comments regarding Ron Wyatt’s work areas follow:
When speaking of Ron’s claims, there are many we have no knowledge of. For instance, since we are not involved in the Noah’s Ark project at all, we do not know whether he is correct or not. We stick to the finds we know of, in Saudi Arabia, and because of our 8 years experience there, have come to some differing conclusions than Ron, who only had limited time there in a very small area. We do believe Ron was correct about the golden calf altar; the fact that this mountain in Arabia is Mt. Sinai, that the cave is Elijah’s Cave, that the Israelites encamped out in the valley in front of this mountain. Ron also agreed with us that the split rock we found and shared with him was indeed, the rock Moses struck at Horeb. So, on those points we definitely agree. We also believe that Nuweiba was the point that the Israelites began their sea crossing (of the Gulf of Aqaba), and that the pillars on either side of this point were likely erected later as a memorial to mark the crossing site. I also received a email from a Christian, a Professional engineer, B.A.Sc. graduated from the University of Toronto. He wrote to me saying:
Hi Simon, 
I am enthralled by Penny Caldwell and the Mt. Sinai team of researchers (Dr. Lennart Moller, Bob Cornuke, etc.) No question at all about the Mt. Sinai findings. He stated to me.

I would also recommend a wonderful book called Noah's Ark Uncovered written by Henri Nissen who trained in the Danish school of journalism and has written thousands of articles as well as 7 books. I found this book to be excellent to read. He goes into this subject in great depths and explains the many ark hunters views, who are for and who are against. 

Henri Nissen has traveled to the site of Durupinar to research the boat shaped object. His book took him thousands of hours to write and gives detailed information of what he saw at the Durupinar Site and the surrounding area. He also writes of Ron Wyatt. 

He talks about the site of Noah's ark on Mount Ararat and George Hagopian that as a child had seen the Ark on Mt. Ararat. Please note that in Hagopian's memory the Ark is nearly square with only slightly rounded edges and includes a box with a row of windows set on top. The dimensions were bigger than those in the Bible as well. Noah's Ark Uncovered, Page 165.

AUSTRALIAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL AUTHOR - GRAY 

Here are some interesting notes made by Henri in his book, Australian Archaeological author Gray has undergone a huge task in collecting information about Ron's discoveries. Henri states that Wyatt did not always publish his evidence and critics have accused him of lying or having very little information. Gray who was originally skeptical of Wyatt's extraordinary find concluded after his research that all of Wyatt's claims were true.

RON WYATT'S CREDIBILITY.
Henri also mentions about Ron Wyatt credibility. ‘We have to give it to Baumgardner, Lee, and other critics that Ron Wyatt can at times appear less than credible. He jumps to conclusions too quickly and does not always base them on facts but rather on a certain kind of intuition or was it conceit?

Henri Nissen continues to say:
Some of his evidence can be easily dismissed either because he was unable to present it or because he had it examined in such a way that doubt could be sown in with the results, he continues to say in his June the 1st 2000 newsletter. Bill Fry writes about an old wall in the village Kazan which Ron claimed to have blue-green tiles finished with a painting of the Ark and animals on it. When Bill saw the wall in June of 2000 there were no paintings. Later, in May 2001, he returned and the wall was completely destroyed by the villagers! Bill contacted the authorities and questioned the village heads. They claimed that they took the wall down to be free from visitors. If that is how the locals think then maybe we have an explanation as to why so many things have disappeared or have been destroyed. Later Bill asked one of the village leaders wife's what had happened. She said that at one point precious stones were found in the wall probably Christian Byzantine. He asked if there was anything else special about the wall. Yes, a few years ago there were some tiles on it, almost blue-green. It’s this type of experience that convinces me that Ron was telling the truth, remarks Bill Fry. Noah's ark uncovered, Page 307.
If this is the case, of the books and films that support and confirm with some of Ron's work to be good and hard evidence of some truth, as it seems to be, then it is clear, then people are wrong in condemning ALL of Ron's work.
This is what I find very sad. There are many people in the world wanting evidence before they make a step of faith. I was one of them. Yet what we find is many have condemned ALL of Ron's work even though it seems clear to me some of his work has been proven by others to be true and to have merit.
I have also received an email from ---ABR, of The Associates for Biblical Research.

He wrote to me saying:
Our conviction at ABR is that any "Bible discoveries" that cannot be shown to be true by other investigators who WANT them to be true - like us - are not at all helpful in reaching atheists and sincere seekers. If those who WANT discoveries to support the Bible check them closely, yet find clear evidence they are not genuine, you can be sure that atheists will use those "evidences" not to get faith in Christ, but to attack it. They will also use it to be even more sure in their own minds that Christianity is a fake.

I expect you will not want to hear this, but the truth is that most, if not all, of the Wyatt claims have been found to be false. The problem is not that we don't understand the claims of Mr. Wyatt, and are just bad-mouthing them. We do understand them; we have researched them; and we have found very good reasons to believe they are not true. If the things Mr. Wyatt reported were real archaeology, other Christians could independently go to those places he talked about, see the same things, and draw the same conclusions. But this has not happened. The evidence is not there for others to find. Sincerely in Christ,

It is my belief that according to what I have researched that clearly some of Wyatt's work has been proven but not all of it.

He also wrote in his email to me:

So I decided to research one of the links.
When I researched one of the people from the links the Associates for Biblical Research sent me I found that they were Christian Universalists.

Christian Universalism is a school of Christian theology which includes the belief in the doctrine of universal reconciliation, the view that all human beings or all fallen creatures will ultimately be restored to right relationship with God.
This is not one of my personal beliefs, but as I have said I do not condemn people for their beliefs.

SODOM AND GOMORRAH

Before I made any judgments,

I myself researched one of Ron's discoveries on the claims he made saying he discovered Sodom and Gomorrah by the Dead Sea in Israel. I took a crew down to the most barren territories on this planet and there was no doubt whatsoever in our minds of what we were seeing.

The courses of old streams, walls, dams and weirs with mortar joints, structures lining the banks of streams and strange looking buildings with pointed roofs. The white ashen remains stand out clearly against the backdrop of brown mountains and hills. There is a large fortress-like construction. There is an intact well constructed of the same materials as the fortress walls and embedded in the rock is hundreds of brimstone sulphur (death balls) just as told to us in Genesis 19 v 24. Then the lord rained down burning sulphur on Sodom and Gomorrah.
SULPHUR BALLS

The brimstone balls we found contained powdered sulphur which is found nowhere else on the planet; sulphur is normally found in crystalline form.

I also took the mysterious balls of sulphur to be tested in a UK laboratory, a company called the Intertek Sunbury Technology Centre who were willing to analyse my brimstone samples. I had read of a test showing 98% sulphur but I wished to see for myself. The tests were carried out by a technician named Andy Geatches, an x-ray fluorescence analyst CLICK HERE TO READ THIS BOOK or WATCH THE FILM or order the FREE BOOK and DVD here 

We eventually had a meeting with a gentleman named John Price who was team leader of the Senior Technical Consultants. John said that he’d never seen sulphur in this particular form. Normally natural sulphur is found on the sides of volcanoes, where it appears in a crystalline form, yellowish in colour. It would normally have been accompanied by acid rain, which would tend to dissolve it a bit, and would not be found more than 50 miles from the volcanic action. The fact that ours was a pressed powder of such purity was most unusual as was the area in which it was found. I also showed him a piece of shell which had fallen off one of the sulphur balls.

Once again John said that he’d seen nothing like it before. He explained that most sulphur today is refined in chemical plants and never in that form.

Dr Lennart Moller also observes that the sulphur in the balls is quite unlike that which is naturally occurring due to springs and volcanic action. This is usually in bright yellow crystals from forming crusts. Another form is found together with iron sulphide, otherwise known as pyrite. Those powder balls from the Dead Sea area are unique and found no where else! states Dr. Moller, 

The burning sulphur ball has melted its way down through the rock. Due to the heat the canal has sealed and with no oxygen there is no further combustion (fire). Jonathan Grey, also writes on the subject of brimstone. He describes a burn ring around the outside of the ball, 

caused by the ball being smothered by the ash. He further considers that the vitrifying of the surrounding ash was due to radiation. On his speaking tours, Mr Grey was often asked why the destruction of the cities could not have been caused by a volcanic eruption. He pointed out that there were no similarities at all. When Pompeii was uncovered the buildings, pictures and mosaics were still to be seen in full colour. Even the population remained, though vitrified and turned to stone. Many cities have been uncovered, but none like Sodom and Gomorrah where all was nothing but ash. Jonathan also claimed that they found a skeleton still containing bone marrow and, with the help of a detector, what they believed was a pot of gold. On being tested in an American laboratory, the samples were pronounced “gold salts”, the by-product of vaporized gold.

A VISIT TO THE BRITISH MUSEUM

I made an appointment to see the curator for Syria and Palestine at the British Museum, a charming man named Jonathan Tubb. He began his career in Syria and Iraq in the 1970s and was Assistant Director at the site of Qadesh on the Orontes. In 1984 he excavated the early Bronze Age site of Tiwal esh-Sharrqi, followed by full excavations at Tell es-Sa’idiyeh, Jordan. The author of many articles and books on Palestinian archaeology, including Canaanites (BMP 1998) he lectures internationally and is at present Chairman of the Palestine Exploration Fund. We took with us a number of items we had recovered from the sites for him to look at. We showed him some pictures taken at Sodom. Jonathan Tubb commented ‘It does look like strange buildings’. He however believed the strange shadows of buildings to be natural formation. 

Just as Jesus stated, even though he believed the photos to look like strange buildings he was blind to what they truly were. 

“Though seeing, they do not see;

though hearing, they do not hear or understand Matthew 13:13.

I can put my hand on my heart and say wholeheartedly that what Ron stated about this being Sodom & Gomorrah, I found to be true. It seems I am not the only one who believes that the cities of Sodom & Gomorrah, still remain and can still be seen.

FLAVIOUS JOSEPHUS

The famous Works of Flavius Josephus - How God overthrew the Sodomites. JOSEPHUS writes the remains of the divine fire, and the traces (or shadows) of five cities are still to be seen. So he confirms that these cities are still there, now to be seen and that they are all burnt up. Moral judgment aside, Josephus Flavius’ accounts have been proved largely accurate.

Yet I find the same believers who say these discoveries are all lies made up to make money from gullible Christians also very often refer to JOSEPHUS as making true, reliable statements confirming the Bibles accounts of history. But they seem to go silent at this statement by Josephus.

 WIDENING THE PATH TO HELL

I received an email from a person on the 30/12/2010 who had just watched my film, Sodom and Gomorrah on you tube. He wrote saying ‘Not this again, it has been proven false, but still surfaces from time to time. How about a little honesty and integrity on the Creationist part? Is that really too much to ask?

He wrote back again saying: I condemn anything claimed to be without evidence, this is no different there is no evidence that the Bible story regarding Sodom and Gomorrah is true.

His third email said.Your statement of "DON'T CONDEMN IT BELIEVE IT" makes no sense if you're interested in objective truth, only if your only goal is to believe something just because you want it to be true.’ 

Evidence will always convince me, it's how I determine what's real and not. 

Here is clear evidence of a lost soul, looking for evidence of the Bible, to help him take that step of faith to save his soul. But very sadly did not find the evidence which stopped him finding faith in God. He heard the condemnations of these discoveries first. I thank God it was the other way round for me otherwise I may not be here now writing this
article but lost in a world of unbelief and skepticism.
 And like so many who have been misled, on the path to HELL.

Is this why God has supplied us with so much bible evidence? Truly he is showing us his grace and love to save us? by bringing us to Jesus in repentance. But very sadly, these discoveries have been and still are condemned by certain believers.

CHRISTIAN TV

My wife and I like to watch Christian T.V as it is a great way to get the message of the gospel out to unbelievers as well as providing encouragement for believers. We happened to be watching one day as a Christian Dr, declared to a viewer that he did not believe in Ron Wyatt’s discoveries. Fine, he is entitled to his opinion however we were shocked when he continued by saying that Ron Wyatt was the Father of Liars and a con man making money out of making films to sell to gullible Christians.

As it was a live show my wife, Emma called into complain as we felt very strongly that this was an unfair accusation. The Dr, creationist was adamant that he would swear in court and stand by his own words. I feel that Christians should not be condemnatory of others work and do not always realize the influence that they have. Even worse when these discoveries do not contradict the bible. But prove it.

Our own experience of that was that Emma’s parents, who are not believers, were at one time ready to listen as we witnessed to them. Sadly having heard this man condemn Ron’s work and his discoveries as false they appear to have been influenced just at the point where we thought they were drawing closer, even attending an Alpha Course. Our prayer is that they will once again be open and interested in finding the reality of God, but at the present time they do not want to hear and have closed their ears to the saving truth of Jesus.

I know that many people are blessed by Christian TV and it is helpful but I hope that they think before allowing people to condemn other peoples work publicly as it can cause problems.

I am not saying that Ron was wholly accurate in all his discoveries as I do question his claim that the great rolling stone of Mark 16:4. READ MORE HERE that he believed to be the one that was from the garden tomb was indeed the original article. My understanding is that the stone that he discovered was 24 inches wide and the channel of the tomb is only 15 inches wide therefore making it an impossible fit.

I suppose it would be like putting on a size 9 shoe when you have size 11 feet! The Garden Tomb Association say there is no stone in the ground of the garden tomb that fits the Tomb in the garden as Ron claimed there was.

I do not condemn him for that as he believed his stone for the tomb was buried in the ground and it was the radar readings that told him it was 24 inches thick. 

However, we are humans and capable of error or failure even though our intentions may be good. I do not believe Ron would have gone to his grave deliberately lying to deceive anyone as some have claimed. I believe that he thoroughly and passionately believed in his work and was devoted to the cause of providing evidence that we the Body Of Christ could use to say to the world, ‘Look this is real and here is the proof’.

Henri Nissen states:

Ron Wyatt actually did make a lot of exciting discoveries and for whatever the reason was a lot of the criticism directed towards him was unfair and exaggerated and was often caused by either jealousy on the part of other Ark- hunters or attempts to defend their own prestige and /or doubtful eye witnesses. Noah's ark uncovered, Page 308. 

Ron Wyatt’s work is wide and varied and I believe that he devoted himself to his work passionately with a view to strengthening people’s faith far and wide.

I recently contacted Henri Nissen himself and was encouraged by his open mindedness and also by his non-condemnatory attitude and his recognition of the fact that people are often looking for ‘absolute truths’ when often things are open to interpretation and we will never know the truth is wisdom itself. I agreed with him when he said that people often use ‘strong words’ to denounce or pronounce when actually there is often a bias or an unwillingness to see beyond their beliefs. I also agree with him that Ron was not a fraudster but someone who, like all of us, may have sometimes jumped to conclusions or drawn the wrong conclusion from interpreting discoveries according to his knowledge at the time. This is where as human beings I believe like Henri that we sometimes have to re-think our beliefs as new information comes to light and to do so is a healthier attitude that becoming entrenched and immovable on things and unwilling to listen to others or see a different perspective.

I look forward to reading more of Henri’s work as he is currently writing a book incorporating new discoveries.

Whether any of Ron Wyatt’s discoveries are his or not, true or false, if he was alive today I would thank him for making me aware of things that no one else did at that time and that led my wife Emma and I to becoming born again Christians.

IS THIS A SALVATION ISSUE?

Let all faiths be sure that we are not deceived. Jesus warned us that many would be so let’s be sure that we do not gamble with our souls for our destiny depends on what we believe and that by Jesus’ own words we see that Jesus, never claimed to be God. Jesus spoke these words: And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. John 17:3.

This is vital we believe this as Jesus stated, it affects our salvation.

Let us humble ourselves and be sure of our standing with Gods word and surrender our whole lives to GOD through His Son Jesus, for those who believe GOD is the only ONE TRUE GOD, and follow Him THROUGH Jesus, he has been away, preparing a place for you, in His Fathers house there are many mansions and one is waiting for you!

Friends lets not put our trust in man, but praying to Jesus alone. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psalms 118:8 

Friends let us focus on GOD who is the one who will save us while we were sinking in to the depths of hell just as the Titanic sank and will never be raised. 

GOD and Jesus are the ones and only ones who will raise us to a new and never ending life. So let’s be sure we believe what is right, and NOT where Noah’s Ark is, BUT who GOD and His Son Jesus is and who they both claim to be.
That Jesus own Father is the ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, and Jesus truly is GOD’s literal begotten Son, who are not a Catholic TRINITY.

PLEASE PRAY WITH ME, Lord GOD through Jesus, we ask you to break down Satan’s strongholds and to open the eyes of those who do not know the truth of your living word and that ALL Christians will be an example of the love you showed for the world so that we may do the same and obey the second greatest command given by Jesus:

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

1 John 4:7 Amen.

LAST NOTE

I have not written this article to prove or disprove where Noah’s Ark is but in the hope that Christians will stop and not condemn people for believing in non salvation issues and that we see this behavior causes more damage than good, but instead let’s accept that different is not always wrong and show love and respect our neighbour even if we differ in our beliefs. The only thing we have to shout loud about is that God loved us and sent his Son to save us, and not condemn us. Hallelujah!
