Quick Facts: 1 John 4:1–3 — Who Are the False Prophets and What Is the Spirit of the Antichrist?

Quick Facts study of 1 John 4:1–3 examining John's warning about false prophets, testing the spirits, another Jesus, and the spirit of the antichrist.

A detailed biblical infographic examining 1 John 4:1–3 and John's command to test the spirits because many false prophets had entered the world. It compares John's identification of Jesus as the Christ and Son of God with later teachings about the identity of Jesus.

QUICK FACTS: 1 JOHN 4:1–3

WHO ARE THE FALSE PROPHETS — AND WHAT DOES JOHN MEAN BY “THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST”?

There are few warnings in the New Testament more serious than the warning given by the apostle John in 1 John 4.

John does not tell Christians to believe every preacher, teacher, denomination or tradition simply because they use the name of Jesus.

Instead, John commands us:

TEST THE SPIRITS.

Why?

Because:

“MANY FALSE PROPHETS HAVE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD.”

This raises a question that Christians should not be afraid to investigate:

WHO WERE THESE FALSE TEACHERS?

And even more importantly:

HOW DOES JOHN TELL US TO RECOGNIZE FALSE TEACHING ABOUT JESUS?

We should not avoid John's warning because its implications may be uncomfortable.

Neither should we accuse people of something John himself did not explicitly say.

Instead, let us carefully examine John's own words and allow Scripture to define the Jesus we are commanded to confess.

JOHN COMMANDS CHRISTIANS TO TEST WHAT THEY ARE TAUGHT

1 JOHN 4:1 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

This is extraordinary.

False prophets were not merely something John expected to appear hundreds of years later.

John says:

“MANY FALSE PROPHETS HAVE GONE OUT INTO THE WORLD.”

They were already present.

Therefore, Christianity was already facing corruption and false teaching during the apostolic age itself.

JESUS ALSO WARNED US ABOUT FALSE PROPHETS

Jesus had already warned:

MATTHEW 7:15 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”

The danger is obvious.

False teachers do not necessarily announce themselves as false teachers.

They may appear Christian.

They may quote Scripture.

They may speak about God.

They may speak about Jesus.

They may appear sincere.

That is precisely why John tells us:

DO NOT SIMPLY BELIEVE THEM.

TEST THEM.

PAUL ALSO WARNED ABOUT “ANOTHER JESUS”

Paul gives an equally serious warning:

2 CORINTHIANS 11:4 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“For if indeed the one coming proclaims another Jesus whom we did not proclaim…”

Think carefully about what this means.

Someone can apparently use the name:

JESUS

while proclaiming:

“ANOTHER JESUS.”

Therefore, merely saying “I believe in Jesus” cannot by itself settle the matter.

We must ask:

WHICH JESUS?

The Jesus proclaimed by the apostles?

Or a later theological version of Jesus containing claims the apostles themselves never made?

JOHN GIVES US A TEST

John continues:

1 JOHN 4:2 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ having come in the flesh is of God.”

Look carefully at John's actual language.

John says:

JESUS CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH.

And he says Jesus Christ:

“IS OF GOD.”

But John does not write:

“GOD CAME IN THE FLESH.”

That difference deserves careful investigation.

THEN COMES JOHN'S VERY SERIOUS WARNING

1 JOHN 4:3 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not of God. And this is that of the antichrist, which you heard that is coming, and now is already in the world.”

These are extremely serious words.

John identifies a false confession concerning Jesus with:

THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST.

We therefore cannot simply read this passage and move on.

We must ask:

WHO IS JOHN TALKING ABOUT?

WHO WERE JOHN'S IMMEDIATE OPPONENTS?

Historically, John's immediate opponents appear to have included people who denied or radically reinterpreted the genuine coming of Jesus Christ in human flesh.

This explains why John places such enormous emphasis upon confessing:

JESUS CHRIST HAVING COME IN THE FLESH.

But we should not turn that historical explanation into an excuse to make John's warning irrelevant today.

John establishes a principle that remains enormously important:

THE IDENTITY OF JESUS MUST BE TESTED.

And John's own writings must tell us who Jesus is.

DOES 1 JOHN 4:3 SPECIFICALLY SAY TRINITARIANS ARE ANTICHRIST?

No.

We must be truthful about that.

John does not say:

“Everyone believing in the Trinity is antichrist.”

And most Trinitarians certainly do confess that:

JESUS CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH.

Therefore, we should not put words into John's mouth.

But this does not end the investigation.

It actually raises a deeper question.

A person could say:

“JESUS CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH”

while defining Jesus differently from the apostles.

Therefore, the important question becomes:

WHO DOES JOHN SAY JESUS CHRIST IS?

JOHN TELLS US EXACTLY WHO JESUS IS

Near the conclusion of his Gospel, John explains why he wrote it:

JOHN 20:31 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

This is one of the clearest statements in John's entire Gospel.

What does John want us to believe?

JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

And:

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

John does not conclude his Gospel by saying:

“These things were written so that you may believe Jesus is God the Son.”

He says:

“JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD.”

JOHN DISTINGUISHES THE FATHER FROM HIS SON

This distinction continues throughout John's first letter.

1 JOHN 4:9

John says that God sent:

“HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON”

into the world.

Then:

1 JOHN 4:10

God:

“SENT HIS SON.”

And:

1 JOHN 4:14 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.”

Notice the repeated biblical pattern:

THE FATHER SENT.

THE SON WAS SENT.

John does not say:

“GOD BECAME HIS SON.”

He says:

GOD SENT HIS SON.

JOHN GIVES US ANOTHER WARNING ABOUT ANTICHRIST

This becomes even more important when we read an earlier statement:

1 JOHN 2:22 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“Who is the liar, if not the one denying that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son.”

Notice John's framework:

THE FATHER

and:

THE SON.

The biblical relationship matters.

The Father is the Father.

The Son is the Son.

Therefore, any doctrine concerning Jesus must preserve the apostolic identity of:

THE FATHER AND HIS SON.

BUT MOST TRINITARIANS ALSO CALL JESUS “THE SON OF GOD”

Absolutely.

This must be acknowledged.

A Trinitarian will normally say:

Jesus is the Christ.

Jesus is the Son of God.

Jesus came in the flesh.

So where is the disagreement?

Traditional Trinitarian Christianity goes further and teaches that Jesus is:

GOD THE SON,

the eternal second Person within the one God, equal in deity with the Father.

This produces the question that deserves investigation:

WHERE DOES JOHN CALL JESUS “GOD THE SON”?

He does not use that expression.

Nor does John ever state the later formula:

“GOD IS THREE PERSONS.”

Therefore, the issue is not whether Trinitarians use the words Son of God.

They certainly do.

The question is whether adding:

“GOD THE SON”

preserves John's identification of Jesus or introduces a later theological identity that John himself never states.

COULD THIS BE WHAT PAUL CALLED “ANOTHER JESUS”?

That is the question Christians should be willing to investigate.

Paul warned about:

“ANOTHER JESUS WHOM WE DID NOT PROCLAIM.”

2 Corinthians 11:4

So we should test every version of Jesus.

That includes:

Trinitarian teaching.

Modalist teaching.

Arian teaching.

Jehovah's Witness teaching.

Unitarian teaching.

And my own teaching.

EVERYONE MUST BE TESTED AGAINST SCRIPTURE.

Nobody receives an exemption.

The question is not:

“Which denomination has the most followers?”

The question is:

WHO DID JESUS AND THE APOSTLES SAY JESUS IS?

JESUS CALLED HIS FATHER “THE ONLY TRUE GOD”

This is especially important.

Jesus prayed:

JOHN 17:3 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

Notice again:

“YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD”

and:

“JESUS CHRIST WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.”

Jesus distinguishes himself from the One he calls:

“THE ONLY TRUE GOD.”

Therefore, if we later say Jesus himself is the same one true God, we have an obligation to demonstrate that teaching from Scripture rather than merely assuming it.

WHAT ABOUT “GOD MANIFEST IN THE FLESH”?

This brings us to 1 Timothy 3:16.

The King James Version famously reads:

1 TIMOTHY 3:16 — KJV

“God was manifest in the flesh…”

This wording has been repeatedly used as direct proof that:

GOD CAME IN THE FLESH.

But there is an important textual issue.

The earliest and strongest manuscript evidence underlying most modern critical Greek editions reads:

ὃς — HOS — “WHO”

rather than:

θεός — THEOS — “GOD.”

That is why the Berean Literal Bible reads:

1 TIMOTHY 3:16 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: Who was revealed in the flesh…”

Therefore, the famous wording:

“GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH”

should not be treated as unquestionable evidence that the original text explicitly said God became flesh.

And we should be historically accurate:

The KJV translators did not simply invent the word “God.”

They followed the Greek textual tradition available to them.

The question concerns which reading best represents the earliest text.

WHAT ABOUT JOHN 1:14?

John writes:

JOHN 1:14 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…”

Again, read precisely what John says:

“THE WORD BECAME FLESH.”

He does not actually write:

“GOD BECAME FLESH.”

Trinitarians interpret the Word as an eternal divine Person—God the Son—and therefore understand John 1:14 as the incarnation of God the Son.

But that theological interpretation should be distinguished from John's actual wording.

John says:

THE WORD BECAME FLESH.

JESUS CALLED HIMSELF A MAN WHO HEARD FROM GOD

Jesus himself said:

JOHN 8:40 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has spoken to you the truth, which I heard from God.”

Look at the distinction:

JESUS — “A MAN.”

And:

GOD — THE ONE FROM WHOM JESUS HEARD.

Paul gives us the same distinction:

1 TIMOTHY 2:5 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”

Again:

ONE GOD.

And:

THE MAN CHRIST JESUS.

DID GOD COME IN THE FLESH — OR DID GOD'S SON COME IN THE FLESH?

This is therefore the central question.

Throughout Scripture we repeatedly find:

GOD SENT HIS SON.

John says:

JESUS CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH.

John says:

JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

John says:

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

John says:

THE FATHER SENT THE SON.

Jesus calls his Father:

THE ONLY TRUE GOD.

But later Christian theology commonly uses another expression:

“GOD CAME IN THE FLESH.”

Are those two statements necessarily identical?

That should be demonstrated from Scripture, not merely assumed.

EPHESIANS SAYS ERROR SHOULD BE EXPOSED

Paul writes:

EPHESIANS 5:11 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“And do not participate in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them.”

Therefore, Christians should not be frightened of examining doctrines—even ancient and enormously popular doctrines.

But exposing error requires accuracy.

We should never falsely accuse someone.

We should never deliberately misrepresent another Christian's beliefs.

And we should never make Scripture say something it does not say.

Instead:

PUT THE TEACHINGS SIDE BY SIDE.

COMPARE THEM FOR YOURSELF

JOHN'S WORDS:

“JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD.”

JOHN'S WORDS:

“THE FATHER HAS SENT THE SON.”

JOHN'S WORDS:

“JESUS CHRIST HAVING COME IN THE FLESH IS OF GOD.”

JESUS' WORDS:

“YOU, THE ONLY TRUE GOD, AND JESUS CHRIST WHOM YOU HAVE SENT.”

Now compare those statements with the later formulation:

“JESUS IS GOD THE SON, THE ETERNAL SECOND PERSON OF THE ONE GOD, WHO BECAME INCARNATE.”

Then ask:

ARE THESE REALLY THE SAME TEACHING?

That is the question every reader must investigate.

FINAL CONCLUSION

Final conclusion on 1 John 4:1–3 examining false prophets, another Jesus, the spirit of the antichrist, and John's command to test the spirits.

A detailed biblical infographic examining John's warning in 1 John 4:1–3 to test the spirits. It considers false prophets, Paul's warning about “another Jesus,” the spirit of the antichrist, and the importance of testing later teachings about Jesus against Scripture.

John's warning is too serious to ignore:

“TEST THE SPIRITS.”

False prophets existed even during the apostolic age.

Paul warned about:

“ANOTHER JESUS.”

And John warned about:

“THE SPIRIT OF THE ANTICHRIST.”

We should therefore test every teaching concerning Jesus against the testimony of Jesus and his apostles.

But we must be equally careful not to go beyond Scripture.

1 John 4:3 does not explicitly say that Trinitarians are antichrists.

Neither, however, does John's statement exempt a doctrine merely because billions of Christians accept it.

The test remains:

WHO IS THE TRUE JESUS?

John gives us his answer:

JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD.

JESUS CHRIST CAME IN THE FLESH.

JESUS WAS SENT BY HIS FATHER.

And John warns us about denying:

THE FATHER AND THE SON.

Therefore, the question Christians today should seriously examine is:

IF JOHN IDENTIFIES JESUS AS THE SON OF GOD, DOES THE LATER TITLE “GOD THE SON” PRESERVE JOHN'S JESUS — OR DOES IT CHANGE HIS IDENTITY?

And if Scripture warns us that “another Jesus” can be preached, we should have the courage to test that question against the entire Word of God.

Not against popularity.

Not against tradition.

Not against church councils.

Not against what we were raised to believe.

But against:

THE WORD OF GOD.

Because John himself tells us why he wrote his Gospel:

JOHN 20:31 — BEREAN LITERAL BIBLE

“But these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”

JESUS IS THE CHRIST.

THE SON OF GOD.

That is John's confession.

And every later teaching about the identity of Jesus should be tested against it.

1 John 2:22 Who is the liar, except the one denying that Jesus is the Christ? Part 2.

1 John 2:22

1 John 2:22

Who is the liar, except the one denying that Jesus is the Christ?

Part 2.

In Part 1 we saw how Jesus is the CHRIST (OF) GOD, and how CHRIST truly means CHRIST, the anointed and chosen Messiah and Lamb of His GOD, and how CHRIST NEVER means ALMIGHTY GOD.

But let's now see what The One True GOD and the Jews, and the disciples called Jesus, which will confirm what they believed, proving who Jesus is.

We will start with what Yahweh The One True GOD Himself tells us, while also examining the birth of Jesus and see if there are ANY teachings saying GOD is the SON or GOD is THREE called the TRINITY.

Mark 1:11

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: And a voice came out of the heavens: "You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased."

Mark 9:7

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud: "This is My Son, the beloved; listen to Him."

Luke 2:11

tells us how a Savior has been born who is Christ the Lord: For today in the City of David a Savior has been born to you, who is Christ the Lord. WE DO NOT READ HOW GOD BECAME FLESH AND HAS BEEN REBORN AS A BABY AS MOST CHRISTIANS WRONGLY AND INSANELY BELIEVE.

Luke 3:22

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in a bodily form as a dove, and a voice came out of heaven: "You are My Son, the beloved; in You I am well pleased."

Luke 9:35

tells us GOD spoke saying: "This is My Son, and NOTHING by GOD saying I AM THE SON. And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him!"

Matthew 1:16

we read the SON (OF) GOD was born called Christ: And Jacob begat Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, the One being called Christ. WE DO NOT READ HOW GOD WAS BORN AS CHRIST.

Matthew 2:15

we read how (GOD) calls His SON, NOT how GOD calls GOD or Himself: and there he remained until the death of Herod, so that it might be fulfilled what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, "Out of Egypt I have called my Son.

Matthew 3:17

again confirms GOD saying Jesus is His SON, and NOTHING about GOD saying He is the SON. And behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is my Son, the beloved, in whom I was well pleased."

Matthew 17:5

confirms again how Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: While yet he was speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice out of the cloud saying, "This is My Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!"

2 Peter 1:17

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: For having received honor and glory from God the Father, a voice such as follows was brought to Him by the Majestic Glory: "This is My Son, My beloved, in whom I have found delight."

Acts 13:33

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: that God has fulfilled this to us their children, having raised up Jesus, as also it has been written in the second psalm: 'You are My Son, today I have begotten you.'

John 4:25

tells us: "I know that Messiah is coming, who is called Christ; when He comes, He will tell us all things." WE DO NOT READ WHO IS CALLED GOD OR GOD IS THE CHRIST.

We now move on to Luke 4: The Temptation of Jesus.

1 And Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 being tempted forty days by the devil. And He ate nothing in those days, and they having ended, He was hungry.

3 And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, speak to this stone, that it should become bread.”

Did you see that?

The Devil said to Jesus: “If You are the Son of God. WHY would the Devil who was one of the highest of all Angles say: “If You are the Son of God, and INSTEAD did NOT say If you are GOD?

Was the Devil deceived and confused, or is most of Christianity deceived and confused?

We continue:

4 And Jesus answered to him, “It has been written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’

5 And having led Him up, he showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, “I will give to You all this authority, and its glory; for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I wish. 7 Therefore if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”

8 And Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve Him only.’

We now read Jesus saying: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve Him only.’

WHERE did Jesus say: ‘You shall worship (ME or US) the Lord your God, and you shall serve (ME or US) only?

If Jesus is GOD, was He to frightened to say: You shall worship (ME or US) the Lord your God?

We continue:

9 And he led Him to Jerusalem and set Him upon the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here.

It certainly does seem like the Devil is NOT confused because He REPEATS for the SECOND time saying: “If You are the Son of God, and does NOT say If you are GOD.

We continue:

10 For it has been written:

(He) will give orders to (His) angels concerning You,

to guard You;

The Devil even addressed and defines GOD SEPARATELY, by saying: (He, His), meaning GOD ALONE, will command his angels concerning you.

We continue:

11 and in their hands will they bear You up,

lest ever You strike Your foot against a stone.’

12 And Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God.’

We again read Jesus saying: ‘You shall not test the Lord your God.’

If it is true what most of Christianity believe, that Jesus is GOD, then WHY did Jesus NOT say: ‘You shall not test (ME or US) the Lord your God?

Was Jesus deceived and confused regarding who He was, or is most of Christianity deceived and confused?

Satan being among the highest of all angels would certainly have known if Jesus was GOD.

The Devil loves to tell fairy tales, and is a trickster.

However there are NO fairy tales or tricks here, as the Devil asks Jesus if He is the SON of GOD INSTEAD of asking Jesus if He is GOD.

We now move to The Demons and the Pigs in Matthew 8:

Did the Demons refer to Jesus as being GOD?

28 And He having come to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, two being possessed by demons met Him, coming forth out of the tombs, extremely violent, so that no one was able to pass by that way.

29 And behold, they cried out saying, “What to us and to you Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

Notice how it was the demons who begged Jesus by saying: If you cast us out send us away into the herd of pigs?

We see how It was the demons who spoke to Jesus through the two men.

And yet there is no indication in the Bible that the demons personally knew or even met Jesus before hand.

And yet the demons had already known that Jesus was the Son of God, when no one had yet spoke.

And yet the demons did NOT refer to Jesus being GOD.

Surely if Jesus were GOD, they obviously would have called Jesus GOD.

We continue:

30 Now there was far off from them a herd of many pigs feeding. 31 And the demons were begging Him, saying, “If You cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.”

32 And He said to them, “Go!” And having gone out, they went away into the pigs, and behold, all the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters.

33 And those feeding them fled, and having gone away into the city, they related everything, including the matter of those being possessed by demons. 34 And behold, all the city went out to meet Jesus. And having seen Him, they begged Him that He would depart from their region.

And there is more.

Notice how Jesus did NOT say to the demons you are wrong, I AM GOD?

Notice how Jesus did NOT say to the demons you are wrong, I AND THE FATHER ARE ONE GOD?

Notice how Jesus did NOT say to the demons you are wrong, I AND THE FATHER ARE THREE?

As with Matthew 4 where the Devil also referred to Jesus as only being the SON of GOD and NOT GOD.

As we have seen again there is also NOTHING in Matthew 8:28 to 35 referring to Jesus being GOD, or teaching Jesus is GOD, or THREE called the Catholic TRINITY.

There are also NO CONTRADICTIONS in BOTH Matthew 4 with the Devil and Matthew 8 with the demons who say Jesus is the Son of GOD, as there are CONTRADICTIONS by the faith of the people who teach the Son is the SAME ONE TRUE GOD He came from.

We continue:

Acts 10:36

confirms how GOD by His own spoken word: He sent to the sons of Israel, proclaiming the gospel, peace by Jesus Christ--He is Lord of all.

Notice we read: by Jesus Christ--He is Lord of all. WE DO NOT READ BY JESUS CHRIST HE IS GOD OF ALL.

1 John 4:10

tells us how Yahweh The One True GOD SENT and GAVE HIS SON: In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins.

John 3:16

tells us Jesus is GOD's only begotten Son. NOT GOD: For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.

John 5:18

Therefore because of this, the Jews were seeking the more to kill Him, because not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but also He was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal to God. Here we read how the Jews confirm how Jesus was calling GOD His own Father, and yet the TRINITY faith say GOD is the SON, and the Father is NOT the SON, and yet even children understand GOD the Father is the same person, and NOT TWO separate persons.

John 8:18

I am One bearing witness concerning Myself, and the Father having sent Me bears witness concerning Me."

Jesus confirms how His Father SENT Him, and we all know the Father is GOD.

John 11:27

DID Martha of Bethany SAY BELIEVE or CALL Jesus GOD?

The simple answer is given by Martha of Bethany: She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

John 14:13

we have Jesus confirming He is the SON, and nothing about being GOD: And whatever you might ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 13:31

confirms how Jesus tells us He is the SON of MAN and nothing about being GOD: Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus says, "Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in Him.

The expression "the Son of man" appears 81 times in the Koine Greek of the four Gospels: 30 times in Matthew, 14 times in Mark, 25 times in Luke and 12 times in John. [3][7] 3. Lord Jesus Christ: Devotion to Jesus in Earliest Christianity by Larry W. Hurtado, ISBN 0-8028-3167-2 Wm B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2005 pages 290-2937.The Son of Man by Chrys C. Caragounis 1986 ISBN 3-16-144963-0 page 145-147

In The expression "the Son of man" Jesus was continually making a distinction between Himself as being a HUMAN BEING, and NOT a pre existing being, or GOD.

John 19:7

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to the law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God."

The Jews now understand they were wrong by changing from believing Jesus was making Himself out to be GOD in John 10:33 to now understanding Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God."

John 20:28?

“My Lord and my God!”

Thomas finally believed what Jesus always said that GOD was in His SON, NOT that GOD was the SON. “My Lord (Jesus) and my God (the Father).

Romans 1:4

calls Jesus the Son of God. NOT GOD: having been declared the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness, by resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 3:24

calls the SON, Christ Jesus, NOT GOD: being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 1:2

confirms how GOD spoke THROUGH His SON, confirming Jesus is the SON (OF) GOD and NOT GOD: in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the ages,

Hebrews 1:5

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: For to which of the angels did He ever say: "You are my Son; today I have begotten You"? And again: "I will be to Him for a Father, and He will be to Me for a Son"?

Hebrews 4:14

tells us CHRIST is: a great high priest and the Son (OF) GOD NOT GOD.

Hebrews 9:15

confirms how Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant, FOR His GOD, and a MEDIATOR of GOD is NEVER GOD Himself: And because of this, He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, death having taken place for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those having been called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

John 1:29

John the Baptist tell's us Jesus CHRIST is the Lamb OF GOD, NOT GOD: On the next day, he sees Jesus coming to him and says, “Behold the Lamb of God, the One taking away the sin of the world.

John 1:34

John the Baptist said about Jesus CHRIST: I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God. NOT GOD.

John 10:36

Jesus tells us I am the SON of GOD. NOT GOD.

John 1:14

tells us NOT GOD, but the word (OF) GOD became flesh.

 Revelation 19:13

John tells us Jesus is the word (OF) GOD, NOT GOD.

1 Corinthians 1:9

DEFINES GOD separately from the SON, by confirming: God is faithful, by whom you were called into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 1:30

DEFINES how Christ Jesus is, unto us wisdom (FROM) GOD, NOT GOD: But out of Him, you are in Christ Jesus, who has been made unto us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

1 Corinthians 3:23

tells us: and you of Christ, and Christ of God, proving CHRIST is NOT GOD.

1 Corinthians 8:6

plainly and clearly defines who is GOD: yet to us there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we through Him.

Paul never, ever contradicts Himself by saying in one hand there is ONE PERSON who is GOD who is the Father, and in the other hand Jesus is also GOD, as the TRINITY faith and the Oneness Pentecostal faith always contradict the whole Bible.

1 Corinthians 15:28

tells us (Jesus is the SON), NOT GOD.

Mark 1:1

tells us about CHRIST: The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. NOT GOD.

Mark 14:61

Notice how the  high priest does NOT say are you GOD:

But He was silent, and did not answer. Again the high priest was questioning Him, and says to Him, "Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?"

Luke 20:13

tells us how Jesus speaks in a parables about His Father sending Himself as His beloved son, confirming He is the SON of GOD and NOT GOD: Then the master of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps they will respect him.'

Luke 22:67

"If You are the Christ, tell us." And He said to them, "If I should tell you, you would not believe. We do NOT read: If You are GOD.

2 Peter 1:16

confirms how Jesus is our Lord Jesus Christ, and NOT GOD: For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ having followed out cleverly devised fables, but having been eyewitnesses of His majesty.

1 John 1:3

confirms our fellowship is with the (GOD) the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. Proving GOD is NOT the SON.

Matthew 8:20

again confirms how Jesus tells us He is the SON of MAN and nothing about being GOD: And Jesus says to him, "Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere He might lay the head."

Matthew 14:33 The disciples said about CHRIST "Truly You are the Son of God." NOT GOD.

Matthew 16:16 tells us: "You are the CHRIST, the Son of the living God." NOT GOD.

Matthew 17:5

confirms Jesus is GOD's SON and NOT GOD: While yet he was speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and behold, a voice out of the cloud saying, "This is My Son, the beloved, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him!"

Matthew 26:63

But Jesus was silent. And the high priest said to Him, "I adjure you by the living God, that You tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God." Notice how the Jews no longer say or believe Jesus was GOD, but DEFINE the Father as the living GOD, and asking Jesus if He is  the Christ, the Son of God."

Matthew 27:17

tells us how Jesus is called Christ. NOT GOD: Therefore of them being gathered together, Pilate said to them, "Whom want you that I shall release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?"

Matthew 27:22

tells us how Jesus is called Christ. NOT GOD: Pilate says to them, "What then should I do with Jesus, who is called Christ?" They all say, "Let Him be crucified."

Matthew 27:43

confirms how Jesus trusted in His His (GOD), and how the Jews confirmed how Jesus confirmed, 'I am the Son of God.'" NOT GOD: He trusted on God. Let Him deliver Him now if He wants. For He said, 'I am the Son of God.'"

Matthew 27:54

tells us: And the centurion and those with him keeping guard over Jesus, having seen the earthquake and the things taking place, feared greatly, saying, "Truly this was God's Son."

Again we read NOTHING about Jesus being GOD, but instead: "Truly this was God's Son."

Matthew 28:18

And having come to them, Jesus spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on the earth has been given to Me.

WHY would (All authority) be given to Jesus, if He was the SAME One True GOD who would already have (All authority) in the beginning?

As we have seen COUNTLESS upon COUNTLESS times throughout the Bible CHRIST is ALWAYS referred to as Jesus CHRIST The Begotten Son (OF) GOD.

How much PROOF do we need that Jesus is truly referred to as the Begotten SON of His One True GOD.

And yet most of Christianity like the TRINITY faith and the Oneness Pentecostal faith, CONTRADICT COUNTLESS upon COUNTLESS teachings throughout the Bible.

1 John 5:9

If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony of God that He has testified concerning His Son.

CHRIST IS NEVER, EVER REFERRED TO AS GOD ALMIGHTY EXCEPT BY THE COUNTLESS FALSE TEACHERS WHO USE COUNTLESS FALSE BIBLE TRANSLATIONS, AND TWIST COUNTLESS SCRIPTURES, AND TAKE COUNTLESS BIBLE TEACHINGS OUT OF CONTEXT, CREATING COUNTLESS UPON COUNTLESS BIBLE CONTRADICTIONS AGAINST THE WORD OF GOD.

Now we know who 1 John 2:23 was talking about.

Every faith who teaches GOD is the SON,

as the TRINITY faith and the Oneness Pentecostal faith, and

every faith who teaches GOD has NO BEGOTTEN SON:

This is the antichrist, the one denying the Father and the Son.

Everyone denying the Son does not have the Father.

The one confessing the Son has the Father also.

1 John 2:23.

LETS NOW LOOK AT THE COUNTLESS FALSE BIBLE TRANSLATIONS:
